The Shoalhaven branch of the Federation of Australian Writers has launched the 2012 Shoalhaven Literary Award: Poetry.
This year’s judge of the prestigious award is Australian poet Judith Beveridge, poetry editor of Meanjin and currently teaching postgraduate poetry at Sydney University.
First prize is $1000 combined with a two-week residency at Arthur Boyd’s Bundanon artist complex on the Shoalhaven River, with a second prize of $300, third $100 and a $200 encourage award for a resident of the Shoalhaven city.
With an open theme, entries of a maximum of 60 lines are invited from Australian residents over the age of 18 years. Multiple entries are permitted at a cost of $10 per entry.
The closing date is Friday, 1 June 2012 and winners will be announced by 22 September.
