Award winner Lisa Walsh will showcase her work, Across the Lines, at the Shoalhaven City Arts Centre’s exhibition, Ranamok.
Lisa won the 2009 Ranamok Glass Prize for her work, which will be on display at the arts centre from
12 February to 31 March 2010.
2009 marked the 15th year of The Ranamok Glass Prize, an annual acquisitive award for glass artists who are resident in Australia and New Zealand.
The Prize has played a major role in achieving significant links and paths within this field of visual arts and it remains the major focus for Australian and New Zealand contemporary glass.
The works are innovative, displaying excellence and imagination in quality of idea and execution in contemporary practice.
The 2009 Ranamok Glass Prize has been awarded to Lisa Walsh for her entry Across the Lines.
The Ranamok Glass Prize aims to encourage creativity, skill and innovation in contemporary glass from Australia and New Zealand and has become a pivotal event in the Australian visual arts and craft calendar. Glass is an important artistic medium which is evolving rapidly both creatively and technically.
The exhibition was part of the City of Sydney and AMP Capital Investors Art & About Festival. In November, the exhibition was shown at the Queensland Parliament House. After the Shoalhaven City Arts Centre the exhibition will travel to Wagga Wagga in August 2010.
