Irene Wilkie’s new poetry book launch

Shoalhaven City Libraries will launch local poet, Irene Wilkie’s second book of poems, Extravagance at the Nowra Library from 11am on Saturday 3 August.

A well-published writer, poems from Wilkie’s latest collection have already appeared in a number of publications and journals including Blue Dog, Poetrix, Five Bells, Going Down Swinging, Winning Australian Writing 2011 and Divan. Wilkie is a founding member of the well-known local poetry group, the Kitchen Table Poets, as well as a member of the Fellowship of Australian Writers and the Writing Hoods. Fellow members from these groups will join Irene in reading poems from this recent publication at the upcoming launch.”

Irene Wilkie’s first publication was titled, Love and Galactic Spiders.
